dc.description.abstracten	Kiev Trebnyk in 1646: Conditions and Circumstances of Creation The article is an attempt to present the conditions and circumstances of the creation of Piotr Mohyła’s Trebnyk. The book, published in 1646 by the Kiev Lavra Printing House, is a perfect example of the contribution of the Kiev Church to the development of its own liturgical identity. An important element of it was the consistent work on liturgical texts combined with editorial activity. Although the syncretism characteristic of the Mohyla reform, from today’s perspective, cannot be considered a good method of rebuilding liturgical life, the very attempt to restore order and revitalize this important area of the Kyiv Church’s identity is still instructive to us today. The Mohyla texts went through a difficult path, but eventually became an important material for liturgical development not only in Ukrainian churches, but also for other denominations that benefit from the Byzantine liturgical heritage.
