dc.description.abstract	Представлений переклад гомілії Василія Селевкійського – перша спроба «ретрансляції» для українського читача твору з доробку маловідомого, але надзвичайно цікавого й плідного християнського богослова та церковного діяча V ст. Ця гомілія – високопоетична, мистецька спроба розкрити для слухача (а відтак і читача) проповіді глибину й багатогранність євангельського чуда воскресіння Лазаря. Наскрізна думка автора полягає в тому, що воскресіння Лазаря – це прообраз Христового Воскресіння та воскресіння всіх нас разом із Христом. Переклад здійснено за виданням: Mary B. Cunningham. dc.description.abstracten	The translation presented here is, to the best of our knowledge, the first endeavor to bring to the attention of Ukrainian readers the work of a relatively little known, but nonetheless extremely creative and interesting Christian author of the fifth century – Basil of Seleucia. The newly translated homily is a highly elaborate rhetorical and artistic piece, intended to unfold the multiple aspects and deeper meaning of the well-known gospel miracle of rising Lazarus from the dead to the Late Antique audience, as well as to modern readers. The uniting theme of the homily is the representation of the gospel event as the key prototype of Christ’s resurrection from the dead and as a foreshadowing of the universal resurrection of the humankind together with Christ.
